Frenchburg Job Corps Academy

Boneal serves as a member on two entities for the Frenchburg Job Corps Academy. The campus is located at Mariba, Kentucky in Menifee County.

Community Relations Council. Meets quarterly for dinner and update by director and staff on current activities. Members serve to advise staff and respond to request for input pertaining to new initiatives.

Business and Industry Council. Meets semi annual with staff and makes recommendations for new curricula and required responses to the Workforce Investment Act.

Boneal currently serves the Frenchburg Job Corps Center as a member of their Community Advisory Board and the Business & Industry Council as established for the National Workforce Investment Act. The A6 High School Diploma Program which was one of the first in the nation was facilitated/brokered with the Kentucky State Department of Education In addition Boneal continues to play an active role in the expanded opportunities for the job corps students by laying the groundwork for college credit programs to be conducted on the campus of the Frenchburg Job Corps Center.

The college credit program established with Lees Junior College in Jackson, Kentucky is on the campus as a residential living program for the students. The establishment of this expanded curriculum is a direct result of the initiatives involving the Job Corps Center staff and the business and industry council.
Also, an initiative was begun to explore the possibilities that the 8 Vocational Trades offered on the job corps campus be made available for the Menifee County High School Students for credit. This would be in conjunction and collaboration with the Department of Secondary Vocational Education in the Kentucky State Department of Education.
